The Global MBA for Latin American Managers is a graduate MBA program jointly offered via distance learning technology by the EGADE Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. It is a 21-month long executive program which has been designed to prepare Latin American managers for success in the highly competitive and dynamic global business environment.
This program is not 100% virtual, but rather employs three formats:
- Satellite-Professors transmit live from Monterrey, Phoenix or other sites.
- On-campus-Students attend face-to-face and satellite-transmitted classes every two weekends, as well as three seminars.
- Online- Students use the technological platforms of both Tecnológico de Monterrey and Thunderbird, they use chats during classes and submit homework by e-mail.
This program is offered through the Virtual University of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, and classes are taught by professors of the EGADE Business School (25%) and Thunderbird (75%). A facilitator is present in the classroom to help clear up doubts and answer questions. He or she may also teach part of the session, thus providing the great advantage of having 2 professors for the same class.
Students graduating from the program will receive a Global MBA degree from both the Thunderbird School of Global Management and the EGADE Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey: one degree will be in English recognized in the U. S. like any other diploma from a U. S. university; and the other degree will be in Spanish, recognized in Mexico by the Ministry of Education (SEP).
